Poker Cartel $200

Well it started of simple enough. 200 Cartel players at Dream Poker while also playing a $3000 tournament at Hollywood. Hohum. Well the chips sort of come my way for an hour and then dry up for an hour... typical poker. Hollywood is down from 800 to 300 after 1 hour and to 150 after 2. Cartel $200 is down to about 80 and then 30.

Finished in the money at Hollywood for a pittance, and arrived at the final table of the Cartel with about $30 K. After another 45 mintes we were down to 5 and a bluff all in with a crappy hand and a call left me with $3250 and the blinds were twice that. Guess what... all in with paint and doubled up. Same thing with 2 callers and a little breathing room. Blinds at $4 and $8 and I go all in again against Ohmanda hoping she will fold and she has me dominiated q 5 os to k q os. I hit a runner runner flush and boy am I embarassed.. but I won and sitting with $75 and a bit more breathing room and down to 4. Sorry Manda!

Blinds are now $8K / $16K (somewhere my math is off on the blinds but they sucked) and we march around the table swapping allins with so much in the blinds and it will come down to who gets hold cards and luck it seems.

After a few more wins... this time with cards and the rep of a bluff... we are down to 2. Back from $3K to heads up with both having about $200 K, not a bad turn around. Well we danced a bit more and I ended up taking first with KQ agains Q 4 (or something like that) and proved the old addage "a chip and a chair" can run true when the cards and luck turn your way.

Cartel Buy-In and $20 K

Playing 2 again... the Poker Cartel buyin at Card Room and the $20 K at Hollywood Poker.

The Cartel tournament is 30 minutes in and have an average stack.

$20 K is just getting under way. Built up a little with 2 pair, 4 s and 2 s on big blind... ; )
Gotta love it! Just added $800 with BS Suited. Other player had A Q OS so only 3 outs, but you all know how that goes.

PC Buyin... just doubled up there with 10 10... $500 bet after the flop (all under) and JuniorJohn called... all in and i think hard... overs or ?????? I call and he had 6 6... i only had $400 left and could rebuy, but the pot odds was enough to force my hand. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.

Titan $2000 GP

Well this is actually my 2nd tournament today, but the first was the Cartel Buyin and the grandson was over so I didn't give it my best effort when I took over for BRAXIMUS with $800 in chips left. Gotta GO!

Well in this one I have just taken down 2 small pots ($390) in this Titan Poker $2000 NLHE. A little slow so far. Im 23 minutes we are down from 166 to 113. Is that quick?

Hillarious.. a guy just goes all in after a 'no help' flop and a guy calls his 10 10 with ace 5... ace on turn and 10 on river and he is upset calling the guy a lucky ......! What is that all about? If the other guy just has an ace he doesn't have a kicker! He is hot, but his vitriol should be towards himself. Amazin!

Well, that is strange. Electricity went out for no apparent reason for a split second and the game server on Titan went down. Hope it will come back up! We're back in.. only $1420 in chips so only up $400. Falling behind but no cards and a lot of loose play.

That just chaps my hide! Q Q and I raise before the button $300 ($500) after a $100 raise by the guy under the gun. 2 4 7 rainbow flop and I'm all in with the remainder of my $600. 1 call and the guy has A 8 and not that many more chips! That is the kind of crappy play I usually like until they hit the magic 6% er on the river????? Such is life in on-line poker.

That's it for me today... Gotta' get some sleep tonight. Maybe a little cash game ; ) .

$20 K

Well we are 50 minutes into this $20K buyin and already down to 425 of the original 644. Man the chips are flying around. It is a rebuy, but most are just passing on that.

Up to $3300 with a set of 9's against big slick (paired his ace) and then lost half my stack to 2 smaller stacks with top pair, ace kicker to a set of 4's. There is justice after all I guess, but not on my side this time. Back up to $4100 with a flush against the table bully; hearts - k, q, 9, j and 8. That was particullary sweet. Just folded 77 against 2 big raises and would have won with a flush, but who knew. 7 7 is weak against 2 nice raises and if there are overs and you don't his a set, what good is it normally.

First break is coming up and we are already down to 370.... uh oh, another tournament popped up! I forgot I registered for another. Good, only 384 players... LOL. Both about the same size now.

T1 and T2... T1 is about to kick off stage 2 and no one got knocked out during the break (a little joke there). 15 minutes and already 44 more out... wow... like a freeroll. Sittin with $5400 and the bully is raking em up. Big slick right here and a raise... WOW!!!! king on flop but 3 diamonds. Allin and he turns over As Ad. K on turn and no diamond. $7900. That could have been disaster and cost me over half my stack.

No action in T1 and 1 1/2 hrs. in down to 278. No traction at all in T2 and a semi-bluff left me at $550. They went allin and there I was with my hand in the cookie jar. Not a hand in the last 40 minutes. Patience is a virtue. Don't need them now as much as I will in an hour, but I would like to win one nice hand this hour.

Busted out of T2. QJ on blind with $325 left and all in preflop. 2 callers. j 9 X on flop. Bet by 1st to bet and fold by player 2. 9 4 so I lead to the river where... yep... 9. Bye-bye.

Oh, well. Down to 199 in T1 (the one that counts; $20 K) and 15 minutes left in this level. 197 and down to $6400. Blinds at 200 400. LOL... won $1200 with 3 8. Paired 8's on turn and everyone kept checking. I'll take it. 12 minutes and 183. Is it my imagination or are these people dropping out quickly?

OK... down to 72 and the play is SLOW... pays 70 places and i am at $9300 with blinds at $600 - $1200. Slow play to 70 and the lets gamble. Wow! It has been 10 minutes and still 72. 11 minutes to the break. Guy just went out with JJ against KK. Only 71 left and just made 70 with 6 minutes left 'til break and in the money. $66.54 and then 77.63 for 60th. Already 6 out after we hit the money so the gambling picks up. ; ) Still don't have a big stack with $7390, so guess when we hit 60 I will push some. Not a great place with so few chips.

Got A J suited right before the blind and like a chump pushed all in and got 2 callers. Busted out and settle for $66.54 with a $20 buyin and 1 rebuy so nothing to brag about by a long shot. Maybe tomorrow... nope not tomorrow... the wife has plans for us.

Good luck at the tables. Just checked in on the Cartel buyin at Absolute and Shyababy took first place money of near $160 I think and Slorolla got second. Way to go girls. Those Cartel Ladies can play some cards!!!!!

Money Tour

I am really looking forward to the new Poker Cartel Real Money Poker Tour that starts in April! With the help of "hathair" and "shantzy" as well as the interest expressed over the last few days by the member of the Cartel this is setting up to be a lot of fun.

The scoring will be pretty simple; No. of players - your finish / No. of players X 10 X Entry Fee. For example:

52 people play and you finish 9th in a $5 buyin.
52 - 9 = 43
43 / 52 = .8269
.8269 x 10 = 8.269
8.269 x 5 = 41.35

At the end of the month prizes will be given away to the leaders and every quarter we will have a nice tournament somewhere with some added cash and see what happens. With the quality of our players it won't be easy.

The $7,500 at Poker Host finished in the money though at 16th for $75.... 10 10 against A 7 and .... you guessed it, A A on the flop... LOL. Just not my night. Superfly from the Cartel is still doing great with about $50 K... Go FLY!!!!
